Earth Hour 2012: Saturday 31st March, 8:30pm

BY EARTHFIRST

Earth Hour is a unique opportunity for everyone to become more sustainable and do something positive for the environment. It’s been the source of inspiration for hundreds of millions of people taking steps towards a cleaner, safer future.

For the newbies who may not have heard of this global event before. The aim is to turn off your lights for the duration of 1 hour at 8:30pm on the 31st of March.

So how to you get involved? Here are a few tips…

  • Visit the EarthHour website for loads on ides of how to get your community, school and work place involved.
  • Get together with friends and enjoy evening in candlelight (make sure it’s a soy or natural bees wax candle of course!)
  • Spread the word! Tell all your friends on facebook, tell your neighbours, tell everyone!
  • Create a virtual lantern and send it to someone you know.
  • Or do what we’ve been doing for the past two years. Re-discover those dusty board games and enjoy some family time with scrabble or monopoly.
  • After Earth Hour is finished consider how you can continue to do something positive for our earth.
