It’s Autumn and Walnuts are in season! I think we often forget that nuts like fruit and vegetables are best eaten seasonally. Walnuts are a super nut and considered the best plant source of protein. There’s a decade worth of scientific studies that prove that a diet rich in walnuts can reduce heart disease by improving blood vessel elasticity and plaque accumulation in your arteries. Walnuts help lower LDL cholesterol (the bad one).

If you don’t like munching on these brain-looking nuts ‘al natural’ you can always add them to cakes, cookies, home made bread and salads. I love them sprinkled in a salad with rocket, Parmesan and a squeeze of lemon juice!
