Is Your Tuna Sustainable?

BY EARTHFIRST

Most canned tuna on our shelves is caught using a destructive fishing method, which kills baby tuna, sharks, turtles and other marine life.

This has got to stop if we are to restore the health of our oceans. Tuna brands should also refuse to sell tuna species most at risk and use their power to support vital marine reserves.

In the past most tuna brands couldn’t tell you where or how their tuna was caught, today nearly every major brand has to tell us. The brand Safcol has now only uses 100% sustainably-caught tuna.

Greenpeace have put together an Australian Canned Tuna guide that now lets us make informed decisions about the tuna that is ethically caught.

What do you think?
