Did you know that those little fruit stickers actually have a purpose that goes beyond simple branding? Well today I learnt that they did. Apparently the numbers give consumers some interesting info about the type of growing conditions and methods. Who was to know that those numbers that appear on the sticker are important!

So here it is...

If it starts with 3 or 4 and has 4 digits its conventionally grown.

If it starts with 9 and has 5 digits its organically grown

If it starts with 8 and has 5 digits its genetically modified (eat at your own risk!)

So now you know ;-)
